Mainsail (SW-2) Japanese Design

The SW-2 design was the wining design in 2006 Europeans, SW-2 performs greatly, especially in the medium wind range. Our goal when developing this design further was to make it faster in more wind as well. In the breezy condition there is a drastic change in the amount of mast bend. We needed to investigate the key for the sail to be good in breeze and to keep its strong medium wind performance. The process of testing this was doing many simulations in our membrane programme, combined with actual testing on the water. This made it possible to create the new design to cover the heavier wind range, while keeping it's original performance. This is how the SW-3 was created.

Jib (R2-LM) Japanese Design

Powerful flying R2-LM shows versatile performance from light wind to heavy wind. From calculation of sail stress, we use two different sail clothes, the lightest, and long lasting jib sail.
