Gold for Andrew Mills at ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyeres

At the final ISAF World Sailing Cup event for the 2012/2013 series, which took place in Hyeres, France last week, Andrew Mills from Great Britain won his first major Finn title.

After trailing to fellow Brit Giles Scott all week he managed to overtake him on points in the last medal race to clinch gold. Going into this final race the two had already secured the top two spots so it was winner takes all.

"We both needed to get a result in to secure silver at least in the first race and then the last race was just a match race between the two of us. It was whoever did the best would win," Mills said.

In the end Mills came in 3rd in the final race with Scott finishing near the back of the fleet.

New Zealand's Josh Junior sailed well in the medal races to take bronze knocking Pieter-Jan Postma from the Netherlands out of the medals.
